What Happened

Seruvila is situated in the Trincomalee district. On 12.06.1986, two village headmen, three state employees, and 20 workers who were transporting relief food for refugees were attacked by the home-guards in Mahindapuram.

21 civilians were killed and 2 injured in this attack. The victims were taking relief for the refugees who had displaced as a result of the violence against Tamils in Eechilampatru.
