What Happened
At least 2 persons were killed and 20 wounded in a bus bomb at Polgolla in Kandy around 4:10 p.m. Friday, initial reports said. The wounded are being rushed to Kandy hospital. The explosion has taken place near Mahaweli National College of Education. The bus was on its way to Kandy from Wattegama. Polgolla is located 4.4 km northeast of Kandy town in Pathadumbara division of Kandy district in the Central Province.
