What Happened

Natpiddymunai is a village in the Amparai district located 3km from Kalmunai town. On 10.09.1990, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Sri Lankan police surrounded this village, forcefully entered homes and arrested 23 young men, taking them to the Kalmunai STF camp. The bodies of these 23 young men were found in a mass grave in Thampuluvil village on 12.09.1990. All victims were between 19-31 years old.
