What Happened
Gunmen riding in a motorbike opened fire on three civilians in Jaffna killing them all on the spot Monday noon, initial reports from Jaffna said. The killings have taken place on Nalloor Temple Road where U.N. and NGO offices are located and the road tightly guarded by the Sri Lanka Army. The identity cards found with the victims bodies revealed the identities of the victims as Sothirajah Nishanthan, 27, and Sothirajah Sutharsan, 21, from Kachcheari-Nalloor Road, and Chandrakanthan Chandru, 21, Vaazhaiththoappu, Kaddaippiraay. Two of the victims were riding in a motorbike while the third victim was cycling. The victims are yet to be identified. Jaffna Magistrate, T. Viknarajah visited the crime scene and conducted inquiries. The bodies have been transferred to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
