What Happened

On 2 December 1998 around 10:30 AM, Sri Lankan Air Force Kfir jets bombed the Nallathannithoduvaai fishing village in Chundikulam, Vadamaradchi. Six civilians were killed including three students aged 13-15 and a 75-year-old elderly man. Three others were wounded. Most victims were internally displaced persons from Uduthurai and Thalayadi who had sought refuge in the fishing village.
